With all the hype around tattoo designs, one might forget the more simple option: plain old text. Whether it’s a special saying or the name of a loved one, simple text is used in a lot of tattoos for young or old people. The biggest choice to make when adding text to a tattoo is the style of writing. With all the different cultures around the world, the options for choosing a style of writing for a tattoo are quite diverse. Algerian, Chinese, Japanese, these are just a brief example of a style one might choose.
For now, let’s look into a fairly common and often used writing style applied to a particular purpose: Tattoos using English letters for a quote. While deciding the quote to use in a tattoo, the nature of the quote might lead an individual towards a certain style of lettering. For example, if one was to use a quote from the great William Shakespeare, the initial thought would be to pick a tattoo using an Old English lettering style just because it would be reminiscent of the times the quote would have originated from. Ultimately the nature of the quote selected could be a big factor in selecting a type of lettering for a tattoo.
