A Cannock skin artist is helping women re-build their lives after breast cancer - by providing nipple tattoos.
And the cosmetic work provided by Kev Shercliff, award winning boss of the Midland Tattoo Centre, has been backed by medical specialists.
The 49-year-old, a tattooist for over 30 years, has picked up 225 awards for his work, including the coveted title of Tattoo Artist of the Year in ‘91, ‘97 and ‘98.
With breast cancer one of the most common forms of the illness in Britain, more and more women are trying to conquer and forget their distressing journey by having nipple tattoos. Kev said he is glad that, through his work, he can help women who have been affected feel more secure.
Dr Alexis Willett, Policy Manager at Breakthrough Breast Cancer, said: “Some women may be uncomfortable with their body image following surgery for breast cancer. Nipple tattooing can make a real difference for women choosing to have breast reconstruction following a mastectomy.
“It’s important to remember that not all women will wish to have reconstruction, but everyone should have the opportunity to discuss the options available to them with their doctor.”
